Project Description:

JR Engineering was retained by Engle Homes to provide civil engineering and surveying services for the development of Sorrel Ranch, the 200-acre parcel of land located approximately a mile north of Smoky Hill Road and E-470 in Aurora, CO.  The project included the development of single family and multifamily residential units. 

The property is located within the new E-470 overlay district, which required a Framework Development Plan, Contextual Site Plan, Final Plat and preparation of construction documents.  The project design included the analysis and design of two major drainage-ways that traverse the site, the rerouting of Gun Club Road (which was aligned along the western edge), the relocating of two major gas main conduits, a 30-foot deep boring and jacking beneath Gun Club Road for the sanitary sewer outfall to help minimize the exposure of numerous dry utilities and two water mains, and the design of a regional detention pond.
