Westrian Group, Inc. Privacy Statement

The information on this Web site (the "Site") is being collected by Westrain Group, Inc. ("Westrian"). This privacy statement is designed to tell you how we collect and use personal information so you can make an informed decision about using our Site. Please read this statement before using our Site or submitting any personal information to us. By using our Site, you consent to the information collection and use practices described herein. WESTRIAN reserves the right to change the provisions of this privacy statement at any time, but will alert you that changes have been made by indicating on the privacy statement the date it was last updated. We encourage you to review our privacy statement whenever you visit our Site to make sure that you understand how any personal information you provide will be used.

What Personal Information Do We Collect?

Although the majority of information obtained through this Site is business related, we may also collect personal information (i.e., individual information that may be used to personally identify or contact you) from certain users and subscribers. Collection is done both actively (information you voluntarily submit to us) and passively (information automatically gathered from your computer).

ACTIVE COLLECTION. At several places on our Site, we collect certain information you voluntarily provide to us which may contain personally identifiable information. For example, certain pages may request a contact name, address, phone, fax, job title, company information, and email. In addition, we may request similar information in connection with event registration. We also obtain personally identifiable information through our recruiting page in the form of resumes, which are used internally by WESTRIAN solely for recruiting purposes. If you send us an email request, we may also store that information.

PASSIVE COLLECTION. Our software automatically collects certain information from your computer (such as your Internet address and browser type, time and date you accessed the site, pages you visited on the site, etc.) using two methods: (1) "cookies" and (2) log files.

  1. Cookies. A cookie is a small text file that is placed on your hard disk by a Web page server. Cookies cannot be used to run programs or deliver viruses to your computer. Cookies are uniquely assigned to you, and can only be read by a Web server in the domain that issued the cookie to you. The primary purpose of cookies is to provide a convenience feature to save you time. For example, if you personalize a web page, or navigate within a site, a cookie helps the site to recall your specific information on subsequent visits. Usage of a cookie is not linked to any personally identifiable information while on our Site. We use cookies to track a user's path for security purposes, as well as to target their interests in an effort to enhance the experience on our Site. If you wish to block, erase, or be warned of cookies, please refer to your browser instructions or help screen to learn about these functions. If a user rejects a cookie, they may still use our Site, however they will be limited in some of its areas. For example, the user may not receive promotions or product information. Please note: while some of our business partners may use cookies on our Site, we have no access to or control over these cookies.
  2. Log Files. We use IP addresses to analyze trends, administer the Site, track user's movement, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information.

We may also disclose personal information we have collected if we are required to do so by law or if in our good faith judgment, such action is reasonably necessary to comply with legal process, to respond to any claims, or to protect the rights of WESTRIAN and its customers and the public.
